“He is a clean-cut young man who smiles constantly. The other three wore jeans, but he wore black slacks and a short-sleeved white shirt with a vest underneath.”

About Jason...
Jason Jarvis has been painting professionally since 1997. His formal
training in the discipline comes solely from his secondary schooling,
namely Trinity College in Moka, Maraval, Trinidad, where he completed
both O'Level and A' Level studies. "I was not just taught Art but
(taught) a love for Art." This was sufficient motivation to hone his
skills far beyond the institution's sharpening.
He is committed to continued learning, in addition to producing new
iconography and higher levels of design in his nation. Hence he
channels his ability mainly through the far-reaching print media.
He believes that artist and artistes are the ones visually equipt to
engender in a populace the kind of place their nation can be. They are
both the fortifiers and fabricators of identity. This belief guides him
in the choice of subject matter he creates.
He is currently teaching English at a government secondary school in
his country; selling reproductions of his paintings; and freelancing as
an illustrator for local advertising agencies and magazines like the Caribbean Beat.
Advice to young artists
1. Drawing is the probity of Art. The stronger your ability to render
what you can see, the stronger your ability to paint, sculpt, etc.,
even abstractions.
2. Take a lot of time to hone your skills before dreaming of going public.
